The Palace of Knossos should not be imagined as a large, ordinary building, but rather as a small city-state.
Inspired by Kazantzakis’ phrase from the historic children’s novel “At the Palaces of Knossos”, we will unravel the myth surrounding the story of Knossos. We will imagine the heroes through the author’s descriptions and bring to life the real inhabitants of Knossos.
Goals
Children are encouraged to:
- Get to know Nikos Kazantzakis and engage with his literary work.
- Distinguish mythological elements from historical elements presented in the book “In the Palaces of Knossos”.
- Explore techniques of description and storytelling.
- Develop imagination and creative expression.
- Strengthen collaboration among students in group activities.
