On Sunday, April 2, 2023, the Department of Educational Activities of Nikos Kazantzakis Museum (MNK) organized an Easter candle making workshop from natural beeswax with woven decoration for children aged 5 to 16 years.

The children discovered the weaving art and the Cretan woven vourgiali of Nikos Kazantzakis which is exhibited in the Museum’s Permanent Exhibition. They built their own loom using recyclable materials and they decorated their candle, made of natural beeswax, with patterns woven on their improvised loom. They left the Museum with broad smiles and their beautiful candles which would stand out on Resurrection Sunday.
