Adults
Our Goal
The mission of the Educational Activities Department of Nikos Kazantzakis Museum (MNK) is to convert the visit to the Museum into a pleasant experience, adapted to the interests and capabilities of its visitors, and to cultivate a positive attitude towards Culture.
For this reason, it plans and implements educational activities (educational programs, seminars, workshops, one-day meetings) for adults with topics inspired by the life and work of Nikos Kazantzakis, aiming to introduce them to and acquaint them with his writing work and his life.
The activities for adult visitors of Nikos Kazantzakis Museum are based on experience-related learning through which the participants retrieve pre-existing knowledge and discover – through actions and active participation – the life and work of the author.
In addition, the Museum plans and implements educational activities for adults with topics related to museology, education, museum education, as well as topics associated with everyday social issues such as the inclusion of people with physical disabilities, the protection of the environment and a better quality of life.
The aim of these activities is to:
- Create incentives for alternative exploitation of free time.
- Enhance communication and cooperation skills through non-formal educational methods.
- Encourage active participation and sociability.
- Contribute to change the attitudes and perceptions of adults about Museums.
- Contribute to change the social attitudes and perceptions of adults about crucial social issues, creating active citizens.
See the available activities below.
