Our Goal
The mission of the Educational Activities Department of Nikos Kazantzakis Museum (MNK) is to convert the visit to the Museum into a pleasant experience, adapted to the interests and capabilities of its visitors, and to cultivate a positive attitude towards Culture.
For this reason, it plans and implements educational activities for adults with topics inspired by the life and work of Nikos Kazantzakis, aiming to introduce them to and acquaint them with his writing work and his life.
The activities of Nikos Kazantzakis Museum for families are based on experience-related learning through which the participants, young and old, discover the life and work of the author through actions and active participation. The aim of these activities is to illustrate Kazantzakis’ texts through Art.
The aim of family activities is to:
- Create incentives for alternative exploitation of the family’s free time.
- Strengthen family ties and create a shared experience between children and their guardians.
- Enhance the communication and cooperation bonds among family members through non-formal educational methods.
- Encourage active participation and sociability among family members as well as with other families.
- Contribute to change the attitudes and perceptions of families towards the museum.
