“Christmas Wishes from Nikos Kazantzakis: From Then to Now”
An educational program by the Museum of Nikos Kazantzakis, inspired by the Museum’s new Digital Collection, “Nikos Kazantzakis’ Correspondence”.
The Education Department of the Nikos Kazantzakis’ Museum, as part of the festive events organized by the Municipality of Heraklion under the program “Christmas in the City 2025”, invites you on Wednesday, 24 December at 11:00 a.m. to the Jesus Gate for the educational program titled “Christmas Wishes from Nikos Kazantzakis: From Then to Now” for children aged 9 and above.
By connecting the past with today’s digital era, participants will explore more than 1,000 letters by Nikos Kazantzakis, freely available through the Museum’s new Digital Collection, “Nikos Kazantzakis’ Correspondence” (https://letters.kazantzaki.gr/en/). Together, we will discover the letters and postcards the writer sent to his loved ones, carrying his Christmas wishes across time and distance.
Inspired by Kazantzakis himself, participants will then create their own Christmas postcard and send warm holiday wishes to the people they cherish.
The program is designed for children aged 9 and up.
